79 Seconds on Stage (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website at 79seconds.org and 79seconds.art. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

What we collect

When you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address and payment information. Payment processing is handled by Stripe — we never see or store your full card number. Newsletter delivery is handled by Buttondown.

We set no cookies. There is no advertising on this site, no ad network, no tracking pixel, and nothing here follows you to any other website. We don’t sell data, because we don’t have any to sell.

What we count

We do measure two things, and we’d rather describe them plainly than hide behind a word like “analytics.”

Page views. Vercel Web Analytics counts visits to each page and notes which site linked you here. It does this without cookies and without building a profile of you — visits are aggregated, and we cannot identify an individual reader, including you.

Badge embeds. Theaters can put a “now playing” badge on their own websites. When one of those pages loads, we record the domain of the theater’s site — so we know which companies use the badge. That’s a fact about a website, not about you. We do not log your IP address, we do not fingerprint your browser, and we keep nothing that could be tied back to a person.

That’s the entire list. If we ever add anything to it, it will appear here first, in language this plain.

How we use your information

Your email address is used solely to send you the weekly newsletter you subscribed to. We do not sell, rent, or share your email address with third parties. We do not send promotional emails beyond the newsletter you signed up for.

We use the following services to operate this site:

Data retention

We retain your email address as long as your subscription is active. If you cancel, your email is removed from our mailing list. You can request deletion of your data at any time by emailing us.

Your rights

You can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email, or by replying to any newsletter with “unsubscribe.” You can request a copy of the data we hold about you, or request its deletion, by contacting us at editor@79seconds.org.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
